Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GRONTO collects, uses and protects information in the GRONTO Android application ("the GRONTO app") and on the GRONTO early-access website.

About GRONTO

GRONTO is an independent competitive-exam preparation application. GRONTO is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official application of IBPS, SBI, RBI, SEBI, SSC, RRB, any government department, examination authority, bank or regulator. All exam names are used only for identification purposes.

Information the GRONTO app collects

When you use the GRONTO Android app, we may collect and process:

  • Account identifiers: an anonymous user identifier (Firebase UID) created for your account. You do not need to provide your real name to use the app.
  • Exam preferences and app configuration: the exams you are preparing for and the in-app settings you choose.
  • Practice data: mock-test attempts, your answers, scores, results and learning progress.
  • Streak and progress information: records of your daily practice activity.
  • Referral information: referral codes and referral activity, where you choose to take part in referral or early-access rewards.
  • Question reports: reports you submit about a question, including the reason you provide.

Analytics, diagnostics and app services

The GRONTO app uses Google Firebase services, which may process:

  • Firebase Analytics: app interaction and usage analytics, such as screens viewed and features used. Firebase Analytics may access device identifiers such as the advertising ID even though GRONTO does not display advertising.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: diagnostic and crash information, such as device model, OS version and crash traces, to help us fix problems.
  • Firebase App Check: security and integrity information used to help protect GRONTO services from abuse.
  • Firebase Remote Config: configuration settings that let us adjust app behaviour without releasing an update.

Notifications, alarms and the optional Focus functionality

The GRONTO app can send you notifications and lets you create alarms to support your daily practice routine.

GRONTO also offers an optional Focus functionality that uses Android's Usage Access permission. Focus may inspect usage information for the apps you select on your device. The raw usage statistics collected by the device are kept locally on your device; aggregated Focus usage and activity measurements may be sent to GRONTO through Firebase Analytics. Focus is entirely optional and works only if you grant the permission.

GRONTO early-access website

When you register for GRONTO early access on this website, we collect the details you submit: your name, mobile number, email address, the exam you are preparing for, and basic campaign information (such as UTM parameters, the landing variant you saw, and any referral code you used).

We use these details to reserve your pre-launch reward, credit referrals, understand which channels bring aspirants to GRONTO, and notify you when GRONTO launches. We do not sell your data.

Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the GRONTO app and website, maintain your practice history, and process referrals and rewards. We may keep aggregated or anonymised information for longer, and may retain limited records where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal or compliance requirements, or the integrity of already-completed referral or entitlement records.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your GRONTO app account and associated data from inside the app using More → Privacy & account → Delete account & data. Deleting your account removes or anonymises account-associated GRONTO data according to GRONTO's deletion process. Limited records may be retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal or compliance requirements, or the integrity of already-completed referral or founding entitlements.

More details are on our Delete Account & Data page.

To request deletion of your early-access website registration, write to buddy@gronto.in.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including Google Firebase security features — to protect the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party service providers

The GRONTO app and website rely on trusted service providers to operate, including Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, security, remote configuration, notifications and data storage). These providers process information on our behalf to deliver the service.

Children

GRONTO is intended for competitive-exam aspirants and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the GRONTO app.
